Albert Road is a Stage 04 project, which required the production of a Building Regulations drawing set for a contemporary bungalow in Sutton, Greater London.
The scheme consists of a detached bungalow constructed using SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels) and clad in beige brickwork - characteristic of the local architectural context. A combination of stretcher and herringbone bond, along with a soldier course, highlights contemporary detailing achieved through traditional brickwork techniques.
The layout includes two bedrooms, Bathroom, Storage and a spacious open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area, with exposed glulam joists that further enhance the scheme’s contemporary character.
The use of SIPs significantly reduced construction time and delivered excellent U-values, while ensuring a weather- and watertight envelope that meets (and exceeds) Building Regulations requirements.
